Ok progress!!!! I downloaded the latest main branch kernel (3.6.0-030600rc5-generic #201209082035 SMP Sun Sep 9 00:36:02) and I no longer get bus resets!!!
It isn't all plain sailing, I did notice that the hot swappable function didn't appear to work (when I inserted disks Linux did not detect it) so I had to reboot, but when the system came back I could create RAID array etc. without errors. I have coped across > 1TB of data and so far all looks OK. I will continue testing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1042369 Title: SCSI bus errors with 3TB HDDs + data corruption To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1042369/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
