I suspect that reproducing the problem requires that a space follows
the apostrophe.

You can see that it truncated "Lynne's pix" to "Lynne's", which
happens at a space following the apostrophe.  Your examples do not
contain spaces, so the would not have been truncated.

Note that this is a bug on the Ubuntu package.  I don't know whether
it affects master or not.
