here is the download uri for acroread, choose the tar.gz version. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
After instalaltion, pick the plugin (nppdf.so) and copy it to "~/.mozilla/plugins/plugin32/nppdf.so" or "/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins32/nppdf.so" then install nspluginwrapper, normally on installation, it should detect any valid 32 bit plugin and put a wrapper for it in mozilla's plugins directory. If it does'nt, then just type "nspluginwrapper -i [fullpathoftheplugin]" in a console, then "nspluginwrapper -l" to ensure the plugin is wrapped. if it is, then run Firefox, go to about:plugins, to be sure it has the 32 bit acrobat plugin, if so, then go to any url with a pdf file, normally it should just open the pdf with acroread in firefox windows (the same behaviour than on 32 bit linux or Windows) nspluginwrapper (at least the non ubuntu version) is a really powerful tool, that allow one to have flash, pdf [but not java yet] on a 64 bit firefox. By the way, I know that there is a wrapper for java for freebsd, but never saw it under linux and many people reported that it was yet not possible to wrapp 32 java plugin to 64 bit firefox, do you have any news about it ? -- Z. -- [nspluginwrapper] nspluginwrapper won't upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/122528 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
