Public bug reported:

The new lock screen always displays a screen shield, which has to be
manually removed by pressing Esc key before the password can be entered.
This is annoying in comparison with the old solution, where the password
could be entered immediately and is completely unnecessary for a desktop
PC.

Please add an option to either completely disable the screen shield or
better yet to make it vanish as soon as a character is entered or the
mouse is moved.
