Hi Mr. Riddell: On the desktop find the Panel, either the one on the top or the bottom of the Desktop area. Move the cursor to the Panel position you would like to see that Menu Icon. Now Right click your Mouse, and there will be a Menu of Icons to pick from. One of them is the Ubuntu Symbol, with the word Menu near it. Select that Icon, and that will place it at the spot in the panel that you choose. Clicking on this Menu Icon will bring up the Ubuntu Menu, that combines, Application, Places, and System Functions into one menu!
