I spoke/posted too soon. It seems that the problem is on and off now. Before it was pretty consistent. The most recent was I started a few putty sessions via Alt-F2 (e.g putty -C <hostname>) -- about 5-7 sessions. Then I tried to run the ff. by typing it into the Alt-F2 textbox:
chromium-browser --incognito It launched the browser, but not in incognito mode.
