Public bug reported: It's not possible to use cython unless python-dev is installed, since nothing compiles (gcc complains about not finding Python.h).
This is related to #577724, where a user reported the same problem. The fix for #577724 was to add python-dev as a "Suggests" but that's far too weak - it should be a "Depends". It's not possible to use this package unless python-dev is installed, therefore it Depends. ** Affects: cython (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1048999 Title: cython "python-dev" should be Depends not Suggests To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cython/+bug/1048999/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
