In git 1.7.0.4 (Ubuntu 10.04), the merge succeeds without errors. In git 1.7.9.5 (Ubuntu 12.04), the merge command hangs and cannot be killed with Ctrl-C, since it has spawned "editor" and it just hangs since it has no access to the terminal.
