Hi, I am also experiencing this bug on a friends computer. I have tried the "break=top"-solution and also the piix-module solution - neither of these two worked. I should also state that I didn't see any activity in the floppy drive that was connected to the computer. Since it is my friends computer I can not give a more indepth description right now.
Knoppix boots up fine (kernel 2.6.19 I think). I am thinking of trying to install Dapper and try upgrading through internet efterwards. Maybe something that could work. I've also seen someone fix the problem by swapping cables to the SATA harddrive(s) - it's not very scientific but it's worth a try. -- Feisty boot fail "can't access tty" IDE SATA problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106864 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
