Another idea would be for the nbd-client initscript to notify the server that 
it's about to shutdown.
So the server would do a "delayed disconnect" after e.g. 20 seconds, long 
enough for the client to get a chance to shutdown properly without unmounting 
its NBD root file system.

Wouter, would you accept a patch in this direction?
