** Description changed: Binary package hint: compiz - I tried Tribe to candidates 20070626.1 and 20070627 Edubuntu Desktop + I tried Tribe 2 candidates 20070626.1 and 20070627 Edubuntu Desktop i386 .isos in vmware on an intel imac ( OS X ). In both as it logs in X crashes and I get sent back to console where it reloads gdm and tries again. This cycle gets repeated endlessly until I turn of the VM. If I log in as ubuntu rather than waiting 10s it seems to get a little further but still dies. pitti asked me to file this against compiz.
