For those people getting the error:

"PTP_ERROR_IO: failed to open session, trying again after resetting USB
interface"

Something else has accessed the PTP session. One common one is gvfs-
gphoto2-volume-monitor. Try killing that, and then try again.

(For me, it gets rid of that error, but then the S3 hits another error
later...)
