Cool! ...I still need to know the model of the laptop you're using. Your problem is very likely to be very different mine, as different laptops have different suspend/resume quirks. My laptop, for instance, can be made to suspend to disk, but not to RAM, and current quirk workarounds in HAL don't seem to address this. But, for many other laptop models, all that may be necessary is telling HAL what quirks it needs to work around when attempting to suspend/resume your laptop, so it's important to know what make and model you're using. :) (Note that after the message you responded to, I readjusted the package assignment, to hal, instead of linux-source.
