Yes, it looks like in quantal, we should have modified: /etc/X11/Xsession.d/50_check_unity_support to export LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 if the support test fails, thus enabling LLVMpipe.
It seems what we've done instead is just delete the file. So hardware that doesn't support UnityShell won't automatically fall back to LLVMpipe like it should. ** Changed in: nux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039155 Title: Unity fails to load: compiz (unityshell) - Error: OpenGL 1.4+ not supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nux/+bug/1039155/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
