** Description changed: I am copying over 500k files (83GB) from one SSD to another. Both ext4 formatted. Nautilus reports an average of 2.6MB/s . This performance is a desaster and should be fixed. The problem is probably related to the fact the one Core of my Core i7 is maxed out all the time. I am running 12.04 AMD64 with latest updates. Both SSDs are directly connected to the motherboard. AHCI is enabled. What else can I provide to help solving the problem? + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu12 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: max 1828 F.... pulseaudio + CRDA: Error: command ['iw', 'reg', 'get'] failed with exit code 1: nl80211 not found. + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'PCH'/'HDA Intel PCH at 0xfe620000 irq 55' + Mixer name : 'Realtek ALC888' + Components : 'HDA:10ec0888,80862008,00100202' + Controls : 41 + Simple ctrls : 21 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=037a45af-169b-409b-8f48-3e41383c91fe + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120814) + IwConfig: + lo no wireless extensions. + + eth0 no wireless extensions. + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcEnviron: + TERM=xterm + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb + ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-29-generic root=UUID=44cee1aa-a7c3-4b51-b359-564863087231 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-29.46-generic 3.2.24 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-3.2.0-29-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-3.2.0-29-generic N/A + linux-firmware 1.79 + RfKill: + 1: hci0: Bluetooth + Soft blocked: no + Hard blocked: no + StagingDrivers: mei + Tags: precise running-unity staging + Uname: Linux 3.2.0-29-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + dmi.bios.date: 06/26/2012 + dmi.bios.vendor: Intel Corp. + dmi.bios.version: SWQ6710H.86A.0064.2012.0626.1003 + dmi.board.asset.tag: To be filled by O.E.M. + dmi.board.name: DQ67SW + dmi.board.vendor: Intel Corporation + dmi.board.version: AAG12527-310 + dmi.chassis.type: 3 + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnIntelCorp.:bvrSWQ6710H.86A.0064.2012.0626.1003:bd06/26/2012:svn:pn:pvr:rvnIntelCorporation:rnDQ67SW:rvrAAG12527-310:cvn:ct3:cvr: ** Attachment added: "AcpiTables.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037776/+attachment/3265027/+files/AcpiTables.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1037776 Title: Slow copying due to high CPU usage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1037776/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
