I'm also effected by this bug - there are 2 workarounds I'm using: 1) CTRL + W wil show all open windows.
2) ALT + F2 then typing unity --replace will restart Unity and always fixes the problem. There are many different problematic scenarios, which only effect LibreOffice. They mainly occur when opening an .ODG/.ODP etc. file, however sometimes occur when opening an LO application.
