Confirm on a Thinkpad T42, kernel 2.6.20-16-generic on Feisty - hibernating the system and then resuming results in a loss of sound. This is still the case after rebooting. If I shut it down, and start it back up, it works fine. I tested the HIBERNATE_MODE=platform change that others have suggested, and this seems to fix the problem.
