Public bug reported:

I tried to get a screenshot to help ID this bug but unity won't take a
screenshot with the menu open.

Running Ubuntu 12.04 and unity

What I believe is called the network-manager-applet or if I have the name wrong
it's the wireless network icon in the upper right hand corner. When I click on
it after my pc has been
running for a while and try to select a wireless network the only thing
that appears is a .5 inch long by 1/8 inch box.

Restarting unity with unity --restart doesn't clear up the problem.

Logging out however and logging back in the problem remedies itself.
Killing X and restarting also cures the problem.
Restarting the machine also cures the problem.

 affects ubuntu/network-manager-applet
