Hello, One problem with the Python-pip package is the file at "/usr/bin/pip" is from the package for "Perl Installation Program" . So the file "pip" has nothing to do with python. Both packages have conflicting assumptions. The executable name "pip" is already taken. Why not name the installed binary "python-pip" ?
However, I'm not sure why the software updater presumed it should update the "pip" program. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/826730 Title: package python-pip (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/pip', which is also in package pip 0:0.13-1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-pip/+bug/826730/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
