The OS X PDF doesn't use the font that the ODT specifies (PDF: Helvetica vs. ODT: FreeSans), so one might think that differing fonts are responsible for the spacing differences. Would be nice to have an OS X PDF with the correct font to see if there are differences between the platforms at all.
