k3b apparently closes the session even though "start multisession" was selected on the misc tab. I confirmed this by putting the DVD in a different machine and trying to append with a different program. I'm a little bit surprised because burning a multisession CD-RW tested out OK (what's the difference between burning a multisession CD-RW and a multisession DVD as far as the program is concerned?) This in up-to- date Ubuntu 12.04.
