In my case I've discovered that, if I connect a microphone to the back
mic connector, gnome-control-center detects it but can't get any sound
from it.

If I connect a microphone to the front connection everything works as
expected. So I've used this to workaround this bug.

Note: I've I run alsamixer I can see that when I select rear microphone,
read mic is selected as input source, so it seems to work, but no sound
comes through (it work before the upgrade so I don't think there's any
hardware problem involved).
