Public bug reported: Installed a 12.04 on a new system. lspci shows as network controller: 03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43228 802.11a/b/g/n
Initially wifi was working flawlessly. Since this is Ivy Bridge, there were some problems with graphics card Intel HD Graphics 4000 and the 3.2.0-26 kernel. So I decided to install deb files for kernel 3.5. I installed the deb files but them I couldn't get wifi because it said bcmwl-kernel-source was blacklisted (a different issue). I decided to revert for the moment to 3.2.0-26 so removed the kernel. However, when I came back to the 3.2.0-26 the driver started misbehaving. Upon boot the driver doesn't work. I have to open Jockey, deactivate and then activate for the driver to work. Here's the relevant lines of syslog upon boot: Jul 10 19:49:22 jupiter kernel: [ 8.605063] type=1400 audit(1341946161.765:4): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_load" name="/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action" pid=563 comm="apparmor_parser" Jul 10 19:49:22 jupiter kernel: [ 8.605068] type=1400 audit(1341946161.765:5): apparmor="STATUS" operation="profile_replace" name="/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dhcp-client.action" pid=638 comm="apparmor_parser" Jul 10 19:49:22 jupiter NetworkManager[895]: <info> NetworkManager (version 0.9.4.0) is starting...
