Just to be clear, I used a USB to PS2 adapter to collect the above information. I don't want this to be a red herring and be targeted as the cause of the issue. Using Ubuntu 12.04 on this motherboard, the PS/2 ports are unusable and the only way to pass any input to the OS is via USB.
