Rather than calling xman with parameters for MANPATH everytime, just add
the following lines to /etc/profile

MANPATH=/usr/share/man:/usr/man
export MANPATH

Once the profile file runs, you will be able to run xman in the normal way. 
There are two ways to achieve that. Either log out once and then log in again, 
Or run the following command :

#source /etc/profile
