Thanks Jean, But I think I fixed the problem, by re running the upgrades once again, carefully without excluding any and it fixed the problem.
I am right in the middle of 11.10 install I appreciate your prompt response. As a guy who makes a living in the Windows world, such quick turn around in Open Source (have been Ubuntu user since 2003) is heart warming.
