I tried gdb as Daniel suggested, but I got a 'your not a valid user for
this process' error. I tried killing the running one, but it keeps
spawning a new one. Is it really crashing, or just popping up the crash
report dialog? (Sorry, don't know how gnome-vfs works...)

Looks like I need to install the debugging symbols.

Logged in as root through gdm just to test. Worked fine. No crashes.

Deleted all my .gtk .gnome & .metacity directories, still crashes.
Tried deleting all my junk in /tmp, no luck either...

So, how do I spawn gnome-vfs-daemon within the debugging environment?

(Sorry, I'm new to this debugging stuff...)
