@Simone, @Dylan - Yes, you've both got the latest PPA kernel installed, yet you both still get "ImPS/2" instead of the new "CyPS/2" -- the new driver isn't detecting your trackpad. I think Dylan has pointed out the other common thread . . . You've both installed the 32-bit (i386 PAE) ISO, whereas I'm running the 64-bit (amd64) ISO. I'll investigate further, and will report this back to Cypress. In the meantime, my bet is that if you were to reinstall with a 64-bit ISO then it would work for you (either the standard Ubuntu Precise amd64 ISO, or the "project Sputnik" ISO from http://hwe.ubuntu.com/uds-q/dellxps/ should work).
Other testers -- If the new touchpad driver doesn't work for you, please verify that you are running a 64-bit system (the command 'uname -i' will yield "x86_64" if you are). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/978807 Title: 'Cypress Trackpad' incorrectly detected as 'ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse' in 'Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook'' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/978807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
