The bug is confirmed by many people...gtk apps are fine in ubuntu so it's 99% a netbeans gtk laf related issue. The related upstream bug which is currently a mess is http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=210471. Unfortunately the netbeans devs don't seem to get it and leave it as incomplete.
