Public bug reported:

The bottom panel in the gedit latex plugin typically display compilation
info.

Expected behaviour: the bottom panel should continue to be displayed
until closed explicitly.

Instead: the bottom panel closes upon switching to a different open tab
in gedit.

This is very annoying because the bottom panel needs to be reopened
manually.
