Solved ..! ..so I had the same Problem with a Ati Radeon 5700 HD GFX-Card and AMD-Drivers installed ... in my way it was the Compiz ... I removed all self-made Options in the Compiz-CCSM and reseted it to the default, after that all was normal again, no freezes ... It must be some extra Options in Compiz-CCSM that, I think that Unity 3D did not like !!! ...
