In order to install Xubuntu12.04, I downloaded and burned the xubuntu11.10-iso. Installed xubuntu11.10 from the live-cd. Then I requested a distribution-upgrade. Xubuntu12.04 runs smooth now on my oldie! (CPU Model: Athlon XP (Palomino) with Mem: 652271616 ram.
