Ok, I think I found out how to reproduce the issue.
Do the following:
1) Open one window on each desktop (i have firefox on 1, thunderbird on
2, gedit on 3, inkscape on 4)
2) go to desktop 1
3) open two nautilus windows. move files from a folder of the 1st window
to a folder of the 2nd window, so that the move process lasts a lot
(network transfer in my case)
4) during the process, move 2nd window to desktop 4 and copy process
window to desktop 3.
5) iconify copy process window.

Now the copy process window is unrecoverable.
No way to stop the copy (a part from x-term).

Thank you so much for your time.
I trust your skill. Keep up the good work.
