There's something going on in Precise kernel and up because I have re- formated the drive in Lucid, Maverick, Natty and Oneiric and they all show the same results but very different from Precise and Quantal:
>From Lucid to Oneiric: ### df -h /dev/sdb1 1953512444 1836062180 117450264 94% /media/A1 /dev/sdc1 1922859912 200028 1922659884 1% /media/A2 ### df -h /dev/sdb1 1.9T 1.8T 113G 94% /media/A1 /dev/sdc1 1.8T 196M 1.8T 1% /media/A2 When attaching the same drive to Precise and Quantal, they report the following: ###df /dev/sdc1 1951642368 28982468 1922659900 2% /media/A2 /dev/sdb1 1953512444 1836062180 117450264 94% /media/A1 ### df -h /dev/sdc1 1.9T 28G 1.8T 2% /media/A2 /dev/sdb1 1.9T 1.8T 113G 94% /media/A1 ** Attachment added: "lucid-oneiric" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1007142/+attachment/3176786/+files/oneiric.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1007142 Title: Unaccounted space loss when formating partition to EXT4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1007142/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
