Thanks Don. Your screenshots are not attached though. Can you login to Launchpad directly (as you did in comment #209) and attach the files using the "Add attachment or patch" link at the bottom of the page?
It is hard to be sure from your description alone, but it sounds like you are monitoring and upgrading the nvidia-current package. The package that is getting updates is nvidia-current-updates.
