Found a workaround: When the appointment dialog does not accept any more input go to the evolution main window, right click the calendar and choose 'new appointment' again. Then a second appointment dialog is opened and now you can interact with both appointment dialogs again. Now you can save the data of the first appointment and close the second appointment dialog without saving.
That way I can now create new appointments with alarms. But this bug should certainly be fixed anyway, the workaround is pretty awkward. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1007133 Title: Evolution locks up under KDE in Kubuntu 12.04 when setting an alarm on an appointment To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1007133/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
