There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect 477990 and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
** Description changed: Binary package hint: network-manager - Running 9.04 on my Thinkpad T61p laptop. When I re-dock it, I can longer - longer connect to the internet, even though both wlan0 and eth0 + Running 9.04 on my Thinkpad T61p laptop. When I re-dock it, I cannot + longer longer connect to the internet, even though both wlan0 and eth0 connections are listed as "connected" in ifconfig (i.e. I have an ipaddress. ifdown/ifup didn't work, and networking restart didn't work either. Restarting NetworkManager seemed to do the trick though. Additional note: In the past, I was re-booting everytime I re-docked my laptop in order to restore internet access. During the shut-down process, the pc would get stuck on a black screen of death, and I'd have to force reboot.
