this fix seams to solve problems: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47535#c10 (I have Intel Core i5-2400 CPU (Sandy Bridge) processor with GPU and no other graphic card)
Anyway I reinstall the 12.04 from scratch and after I applied all available updates (still on kernel 3.2.0.24) I put the line sudo intel_reg_write 0x2120 '0x1206800' in /etc/rc.local. After that (for 3 or 4 days now) I don't have any freeze, and even Google Earth work OK. PS I don't know if this is important but in Compiz (CCSM) under OpenGL I unchecked "Sync To VBlank" also. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #47535 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47535 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/993187/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
