More details about this issue: In Kubuntu (KDE) when I suspend to RAM from KMenu>Sleep the system always goes into sleep mode correctly. When the system wakes up the mouse problem happens that I had mentioned before. Now in this instance where the mouse is not detected "dmesg" shows:
[ 9109.020745] PM: Finishing wakeup. [ 9109.020746] Restarting tasks ... [ 9109.020899] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 17 [ 9109.042179] done. [ 9112.280061] hub 3-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad? [ 9115.368057] hub 3-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1. Maybe the USB cable is bad? In this instance if I run "sudo pm-suspend" instead suspend from KMenu>Sleep, the system tries to go to suspend mode but fails and immediately restarted but this time with the mouse working. Now dmesg shows: [ 9177.792152] PM: resume of devices complete after 7554.485 msecs [ 9177.792340] PM: resume devices took 7.556 seconds [ 9177.792443] PM: Finishing wakeup. [ 9177.792445] Restarting tasks ... done. [ 9177.944035] usb 3-1: new low-speed USB device number 22 using ohci_hcd [ 9178.120429] input: Genius Laser Mouse as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:13.1/usb3/3-1/3-1:1.0/input/input19 [ 9178.120695] generic-usb 0003:0458:003A.0006: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Genius Laser Mouse] on usb-0000:00:13.1-1/input0 Then every time I try to sleep to RAM from KMenu>Sleep the system suspends successfully but when it wakes up the mouse does not work. Every time I try suspend with "sudo pm-suspend" the system fails to suspend but the mouse works again. I clarify that the mouse works fine, and I've tried the same USB port with other devices and it has not problem. So I do not think it's a USB cable problem as indicated by dmesg. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994355 Title: Mouse does not work on wakeup from sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/994355/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
