I had the same problem with a Samsung CLX-3185W printer. With the package in
-proposed it didn't work either.
And thats how I got it to work:
Logging in to cups localhost:631. Delete the printer. Search for network
printer and add it. Also authorize in the same setup the needed users. Restart
cups.
And it works. Thanks Till!
BTW the scanner in this printer was working before already without a glitch.
