Basically this is what I'm seeing on my i7 X220 - even though the CPU reaches 97 degrees with full speed fan - it stays in turbo mode no matter what, as verified with powertop. Maybe somebody now more about thinkpad throttling in turbo mode? ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #42858 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42858 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/751689 Title: ThinkPads overheat due to slow fans when on 'auto' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/751689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
