Could you please try to use the "File/Reinstall previous purchase"
menuitem to see if you can reinstall beep this way? The log indicates
that our backend server launchpad failed to make the repository
available in time.

I would love to get some additional debug information from you, if you could 
open a terminal window (e.g. gnome-terminal) and run:
$ sudo apt-get update  -qq
there and paste the output?

Also the output of:
$ apt-cache search beep-game
$ apt-cache policy beep-game
