Hi,
this is my first post in launchpad.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and I have same problem.
After upgrading from kernel 2.6.32-28 to 3.0.0-17 system was able to boot only
passing acpi=off (or maxcpus=1).
Yesterday I tried kernel 3.0.0-19 from official repository with no success.
Problem persists.

On another machine (identical) this problem does not occur.

Today i found a simple workaround to overcome this iusse.
I set [ACPI APIC SCI IRQ] on ENABLED and problem disappear.

Do you need some logs or informations ?

Thanks.
