wammu has recently been fixed in 0.36-2 in Debian (currently in unstable only):
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/w/wammu/wammu_0.36-2/changelog

bittorrent-gui was fixed in Debian in November 2011:
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/b/bittorrent/current/changelog

There are currently 5 packages left in Debian unstable which still have
wxwidgets2.6 dependencies, but all those have alternatives, and Debian removed
wxwidgets2.6 about six months ago:
http://wiki.debian.org/Teams/WxWidgets/Transition2.6to2.8

It looks like all the packages left to do in the bug description are on
that list, so Ubuntu should be able to drop wxwidgets2.6 too now.
