I am experiencing the same bug with lightdm 1.2.1-0ubuntu1. I can login with another user and with the guest user. Tried to purge lightdm and reinstall, but didn't work. Most likely there is some configuration filer in my home that cuase lightdm to crash. Workaround is to use gdm. I am not posting logs as they look pretty much the same as the ones already posted
