I have similar issues, though my keyboard works half the time, which is weird.
I have a Logitech Wave keyboard with Unifying receiver, and also a Logitech USB mouse. The keyboard works fine most of the time, but sometimes it stops working after I have booted to Ubuntu 12.04. In grub and in Windows it works every time. I have yet to study if this not working relates to whether I have last booted to Windows or to Ubuntu.
