I have the same problem. My burner is a LG CED 8080B. I've tried to create the .fdi file of Thorsten Schoel but it simply don't work (volume.disc.type and volume.disc.capacity are not changed). I've tried to use cdrecord and it seems to work. If you need some infos just ask.
