Hi again, freelancer. Hm, ok, it looks like the forced rebuild may not have replaced the problematic file. Could you please add the following file to this bug as an attachment?:
/var/lib/apt-xapian-index/values And then, please shut down Software Center and try the following two commands in a terminal. The first command will actually delete the problematic file, and the second will rebuild it (hopefully without error this time). As before, the second command takes a minute or so to complete: $ sudo rm /var/lib/apt-xapian-index/values $ sudo update-apt-xapian-index -f Once the rebuild has completed, please try running Software Center one more time. With any luck, it will now be fixed. Thank you again!
