I was totally wrong before; first I was still using the 0.3 release version 
(installed the trunk version with the wrong prefix), and after noticing this 
and fixing it I didn't completely restart.  After a reboot (loggin out/on 
didn't seem to do the trick (not cleaning /var/lib/bluetooth ?)) it works.  It 
doesn't report the memory available but it lets me copy files.  
When I try to copy a file that is too big, it reports an error after sending 
the data that fits and asks me to cancel or retry.  Seems OK to me (don't think 
you can do any better with this data you get :)).
I'll create another bug for the "forbidden actions" problem and try to 
investigate it a bit.
In short: it works OK for z530i (seems to use the same protocol - not telling 
us how much free memory) as the other phones here.
