Public bug reported:
When booting with 3.2.0-24-generic kernel the backlight adjustment stops
functioning somewhere in the middle of the boot process (plymouth
screen). When KDE is loaded, pressing the Fn-F6,F7 keys shows the
backlight control bar, but actual brightness is not affected. However it
works correctly when using the 3.2.0-18-generic kernel.
